Why I Wrote Quick Bites

A year ago things started to heat up in the world of social media. At that time, I was involved in a contest called, “A Really Goode Job”.  Murphy Goode winery was looking for a lifestyle corespondent to serve as the social media person for six months.  I was fortunate enough to be one of the candidates, but was ultimately hired by St. Supéry winery to be the first Director of Social Media in the wine industry. I started writing out all the things I knew about building a brand in social media.

It was originally a ‘TO DO’ list of things I wanted to do to start building the St. Supéry brand once I started in August.  There was so much to do and I wanted to be focused.  Fast forward to now, I’m happy to see many of the strategies I applied worked.  My notes and TO DO list evolved into more tangible tips that ultimately evolved into a script for this book.

Now that I’ve been able to test my strategies in the real world, the results are very positive.  Recent sales numbers for the domestic wine market have revealed the answer to the question everybody is asking about social media—what’s the ROI?  The return on our social media efforts have given me the confidence to move forward with sharing these strategies with others.

The tips in quick bites apply to personal brands and corporate brands.  Although my experience is in the wine industry, the strategies apply to all industries.  I hope others will be able to benefit from the things I’ve shared.  Better yet, I hope I’ll be able to help companies reduce their learning curve when building their brand online.

Sweet! I just ordered my copy. Can't wait to read and discuss…over wine and food, of course!
